My twins wear their underwear backwards still and they turn 5 next month! Mine even wear pants with the "back pockets" backwards so that they have pockets. No amount of showing them front pockets will change their minds.
I have often wondered the same thing. Another thing, why do children consistenly put their shoes on the wrong feet? If they can put the same shoe on the same foot every time, why can't they put them on the correct foot?
