Whidbey...the second time around

I just couldn't wait
this restaurant
had eluded me once
I wasn't going to let it happen again
so I convinced these lovely ladies
to join me
at the BRAEBURN

where we ate

tuna melts
curry sandies
homemade clam chowder
( note to self add rosemary to clam chowder)
FRESH fruit salad
( not kidding about fresh, i think they picked the fruit that morning)
huckleberry sprite
coke with a lemon
potato wedges

**************************************

then the need arose
to use the
"facilities"
Tara braved it first
and came back to report that
you had to go outside
around the back to use the afore mentioned
and that I may want to take my camera

what I found was this pointing my way

after walking around a bit in the misty rain
we went to
Angel.........something chocolates
where we witnessed these truffles being made
can you say YUMMY

It was a GREAT day
we started out at around 11 am
and made it home by 7:30 pm
Gotta love the Ferry
I think we spent 6 hours waiting for Ferries
well.......the good news it that, that was news to us
we were so busy chatting we didn't even realize
the time
NOW that is a GREAT time

I am kicking myself for not taking pictures of the food, I guess I was having a really good time darn it I'll just have to go back

now isn't that FUNNY

a funny thing happened the other day.................

i went to Whidbey Island with some girl friends( more on that later)......when I got home that evening my kids told me that dad had them eat octopus for dinner........i'm thinking Calamari......nope octopus hotdogs over mac and cheese........i think they really enjoy dads homemade meals

my eldest turned six today

and although he acts like he is well into his teens

he is still my little boy

he is smart

he is handsome

he is extremely funny

he is driven to the point that he drives me.....

he is skilled 

he is my baby &  I love him

Happy Birthday Jaxson

the morning started as all the birthday mornings in of my life have 

Beattles blaring

......they say it's your birthday dunna nunna nunna nuna....happy birthday to you.....yes we are going to a party party......

the new half dozen opened all his presents

said the appropriate thanx's 

redressed in Birthday Clothes

slipped the new Heelys on

wheeled around the garage changing between heelys & new bike

listening to his new

Ipod 

while I made fruit salad for him to take to his class

(he requested fruit salad as the birthday treat for his classmates)

then he was off

he rode his new bike

I drove the car next to him, someone had to take the fruit salad

School started 9:10 am

and for some ridiculous reason

ended at 10:30

(not sure about early release, may mean no school at the Carvajal house)

then off to meet dad for lunch and 

MORE 

presents

cake made friends arrived

candles & wishes

presents opened, yet again

and then 

I found myself in the car with 

four 6-ish kids

destination: Woodinville

objective:  WALL-E

popcorn purchased

4 rootbeer opened

( hey if you ever want to sneak treats into the movie just take 4- 6ish kids to the movie by yourself.......not even one question)

4 kids content with the birthday treat boxes

movie playin'

a great time was had by.......them for sure

but I did enjoy myself

the kids were good..apart from being on the loud side

but what did I expect 

I kept them out way past bed time, and fed them sugar

A big thanks to all Jaxson's friends 'rents for letting them come

he had the greatest time

It was a very 

HaPPY BiRTHdAY

remember my addiction......to caterpillars

Just a quick update on our buggy friends

we have 8 cocoons and 4 getting ready

I also found this great website that can help identify

caterpillars roaming around the yard

hey.....if you cant fight it...... run with it

so.....you want to be a Tico

you will need really good food

don't forget the black beans and rice

these are necessary to make any Costa Rican meal complete

**she couldn't understand why the boyz got moostashes & she didn't, so she got a little birthmark to satisfy**

***his stash started out a little hitleresque**no prob we just made it bigger*** we had to wash it off shortly after the photo's...he was trying to eat it***

well you will need some facial hair

Funny Monday

a funny thing happened the other day........

Emeline just about got kicked out of nursery......apparently she was hitting the other children then immediately following the blow with "I sorry", over and over again

she's got another 2 years in the big N hope she can manage not to be expelled
